Teacup Poodle Amrerica’s Top Dog Model

Teacup Poodle Amrerica's Top Dog Model

Coweta County, Georgia is the home of America’s next Top Model, dog model that is. Wild Lil Ramblin’ Rose, a teacup poodle has been named America’s Top Dog Model for 2014.

This sweet little teacup poodle beat nearly 1,000 contestants in the 2014 Top Dog Model contest, and she’ll be featured on the cover of the 2016 America’s Top Dog Model calendar. “Lil Rose” will also be featured dog on the cover of an upcoming issue of “Pet Style News;” and these events are only the beginning!

Jo Jo Harder, founder of America’s Top Dog Model said that “There are going to be a number of opportunities for Rose;” for example she’ll be a special guest at the Georgia SPCA’s upcoming “Evening in Paris” fall gala.

Wendy Foskey Rose’s owner has been receiving interesting offers from designers of dog fashions. one of whom had even ask for Lil Ramblin’ Rose to model their fashions exclusively.

Doggie fashions, and especially poodle dog fashions, have become big business.

Foskey said, “There are people who spend thousands and thousands of dollars on clothes.” She’s said that she’s seen designer dog gowns that go for $2,500 and that, “I’m not the only crazy person out there who does this.”

There have been concerns voiced that Lil Ramblin’ Rose’s win will only make these tiny, delicate teacups who often have poor health and short life spans more popular. There are some legitimate reasons for concern as they often have lifespans of 3 to 5 years instead of the expected 12-15+ years of a toy or miniature Poodle. They are quite delicate and just leaping from a chair or accidently being stepped on can cause serious injury. Teacup’s often have serious health problems, which it has be speculated may be cause of why they are so small in the first place.

That however, was no deterrent to Foskey who loves and cares for her sweet Top Model and she encourages people who want a dog to get one, even if it isn’t a teacup poodle because as she put it, “I can’t even imagine life without them. They bring me so much happiness … they’re just joy.”

We whole heartedly agree!
